ControlMidiSiren is the first JUCE based application / plugin I ever wrote, thanks to the company Mécanique Vivante and specially its director Franz Clochard who trusted me for this task. Actually it doesn't do much except exposing all the siren parameters in a comprehensive way and make them automatable from any Digital Audio Workstation. The plugin parameters can also be driven from MIDI Control Change messages and they send out the same MIDI Control Change messages which correspond to the control parameters of the sirens.
The aforementioned orchestra is composed of 7 sirens : a piccolo, two soprani, two alti, a tenor and a bass.
The company also develops an audio plugin named ComposeSiren that simulates the sirens to enable composers to work remotely. Both ControlMidiSiren and ComposeSiren are JUCE based plugins adapted from an old macos-specific software that is slowly becoming obsolete. They are developed for internal use only, and exist to allow guest composers to write pieces of music for their siren orchestra.
I went to the company's workshop in La Grand Combe twice for development residencies. Those were very fruitful sessions. The team is amazing, composed of very talented, kind, and complementary people. I hope I can go back there and collaborate more with them in the future.
